Steve Tye has been an active voice of Diamond Bar for almost 30 years, serving on the General Plan Advisory Committee prior to the city’s incorporation and has served on the Parks and Recreation Commission, Planning Commission and the Library and Sports Complex Task Force. He has been elected to three terms on City Council and recently served as Mayor.
Steve is running for California’s 55thAssembly District because he is disappointed in the performance of our state government and in the people leading it. Steve will battle the bureaucrats to protect and create quality jobs for our residents, focus on a building a world-class K-12 education system at the local level and protect homeowners and taxpayers.
As a Councilman and financial consultant, Steve Tye holds himself accountable to all those who put their trust in him. Sustaining the public trust in Sacramento is critical if we are to improve this state and improve our southern California communities. At the end of the day, Steve Tye is running to make a positive impact for people and help bring a sense of service and integrity to Sacramento that has been lacking for years.
Steve and his high school sweetheart Patricia moved to Diamond Bar in 1982 where they raised their three children – Kelly, Matthew and Jeffrey. In June 2015, the Tyes celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary. Steve was actively involved with his children’s schools, as well as AYSO Soccer and the Diamond Bar Little League. A third and fourth grade Sunday School teacher for over 18 years, Steve is also a lifetime member of the Diamond Bar Friends of the Library and a member in good standing with the Walnut Valley Rotary Club.
In his spare time, Steve enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and watching sports.
